I've been doing some reading...
I've been reading and doing some studying. If there is one book that I heard of that seemed to maybe give mainstream America a glimpse of bondage then in my mind it would be "Screw the Roses, Give me the Thorns". A really great name for a book.

I thought it was an important work, but I had never read it! Red heard of this and made a point of sending me a copy of it. I liked the book and got along with it - until. Until I hit the top of page 171, "Flying".

Now here's something I see a lot of when it comes to bondage or just about anything where we go beyond the lines, outside the box, beyond the norm. It's where we put one generally accepted rule to one side and all of a sudden just about all of them fall like a house of cards. That's not good folks.

"A stitch in time saves nine" may not have too much meaning these days of disposable everything, but once upon a time it referred to darning socks - darning socks is where one closes up the holes in a pair of socks by stitching them up with thread. If you catch the hole in time one stitch might be enough to close it, otherwise it might take nine stitches to close up the hole.

I've never darned socks myself, but I get the idea.

Taking that a step further it could maybe mean crossing one line might lead to crossing nine - lines.

Getting back to flying... I'm tore here. In a way I feel like putting out the warning that bondage could lead to something called flying. At the same time I find myself licking my lips and wondering what it would feel like - or have I already done it and just called it something else or just not assigned a name to it at all.

Can I still ramble? You betcha!

Flying... (pause for emphasis) ...

Flying means like having an out-of-body experience because the bondage one finds oneself in is... so complete, so hard, so intense, so sweet, so dog-goned tied up that one's mind is completely overwhelmed and one goes to visit another world for awhile... Whew!

Is it another blessing of bondage, or is it too abusive? Is it on the other side of line nine? I don't know, but I'm going to need a tube of Chap-Stik before this is written! I think that everyone has hit a climax that was so good and hard and wide and handsome that our eyes rolled up in our head and the words of gratitude and appreciation came out as a contented gurgle. Is that flying? No, according to the authors of "Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns" the person 'flying' has an experience that lasts for maybe 20 'real-life' minutes and may seem to last only a few moments for the one doing the flying. That would be the indicator to tell two people that a true flight has taken off and landed.

So what's your take on this? Have you flown? Would you fly? Is it too much, or is it the next step? Should I try it, or learn how to darn socks?
